Recent Appliance Repairs We've Done Near You
SHARP microwave repair in New Westminster, BC - a rare transformer replacement. When a microwave misbehaves, it's usually something small and simple like an interlock switch or a fuse gone bust - a magnetron at worst really, but a transformer? That's a rare service call. This client's microwave would heat absolutely unpredictably and after testing all of the aforementioned, everything seemed to be in order, nothing was making sense. That is until our technician checked the windings on the transformer after discharging the capacitor and sure enough they were out of whack. One quick replacement later - everything's back in order. Now in this case, the client wanted to DIY the repair before calling us. Thankfully, they have a friend who's an electrician that advised against it and told them that the high side of the microwave circuit operates at crazy high voltage - not your typical 120 from the plug. So one wrong move, and the microwave is the least of your problems. So if your microwave is doing all kinds of weird things or just refuses to work. Don't risk it. It's not worth it. Instead, call us - and our licensed, experienced professional technicians will fix any problem you're having quickly and affordably. We'll see you same or next-day across the Lower Mainland.
Blomberg induction stove repair in Surrey, BC. While Blomberg makes absolutely fantastic appliances, this client was convinced they got a dud. After our technician got there they saw the stove throwing all sorts of errors and it flat-out refused to detect any kind of cookware half the time, and then would go into overdrive and seem intent on melting everything placed on it when it did decide to work. Cursed stove? Not at all!New induction stoves often rely on one or more induction modules to make the stovetop work. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as just swapping the element on an electric stove or burner on a gas unit and calling it a day. These modules operate 2-4 cooking zones at a time, which means they're PRICY.Thankfully, this one was covered under warranty for the client. But if you're having trouble with your induction stove and you're using the right type (ferrous) cookware - don't hesitate to call us. We'll tackle and solve any problem big or small correctly, professionally, and as affordably as possible anywhere in the lower mainland from West Vancouver to Chilliwack.
Bosch microwave oven repair in Burnaby, BC. This microwave was working intermittently and the client asked Bosch to dispatch us under warranty to get it back in working order for them. Our skilled appliance repair technician dove right in and found that while the high side had good power, at times that power just mysteriously vanished and after checking the interlock switches they confirmed that the relay board wasn't doing it's job. One new relay board later, the microwave oven is as good as new. Happy client, working microwave - a perfect outcome and a kitchen back in action.Got problems with a microwave or combo oven that isn't working right? Skip any dangerous DIY and call the licensed & insured pros that Greater Vancouver counts on to get your broken appliance fixed on a same or next day basis.

Electrolux washing machine warranty repair - or an example of WHAT NOT TO DO. We attended a service call in Richmond, BC where the homeowner had several other companies out to work on their electrolux washer under warranty. They had the drain pump, control board, and even the drain hose replaced - but the machine kept not draining fully (this part is important). Our technician pinpointed the issue within 5 minutes of arriving on-site. Can you spot it?When installing a washing machine, your drain hose MUST have a high loop (meaning a downward U-shaped loop) that prevents backflows and siphoning into the machine itself. It also helps gravity work FOR your washer creating a PULL that sucks the water out as the drain pump builds the pressure to push water out.In this case, whoever installed the machine for the client not only set up an improper high-loop, but they also plugged the drain hose into another hose which then bolted onto the drain pipe itself. And it was clamped on so tight that the water flow was reduced to a small trickle into the drain pipe. The moment we took off that middle piece and put the drain hose directly into the vertical drain pipe - the washer drained PERFECTLY. Something that a few other servicers somehow missed.Need professional help with your washer? Our appliance repair technicians are trained to diagnose any & all issues - big and small. We are partnered with most major manufacturers & have the know-how and expertise to get it fixed.
General Electric (GE) washing machine repair in Langley, BC. The client called us because they were having trouble getting their top load washer to drain well. It would only drain a part of the water, but from time to time they would come back to a their clothes not washed and the tub full of laundry water that didn't drain. Our technician tested the pump and found that even though it received 120 VAC across L1 and Neutral, the plastic impeller would lose tension at certain points of the turn, resulting in a floppy, dead impeller and a washer that didn't want to drain. We sourced the replacement pump for their unit, installed it and tested the washing machine on multiple cycles - perfect drainage every time.If your washing machine isn't draining - or if you're experiencing any other problem with a broken washer - call Vancouver Appliance Service Pros for same or next day repairs across the Lower Mainland (from West Vancouver to Chilliwack). Affordable flat rate prices, red seal technicians, and expert appliance help you can count on.
Electrolux dryer repair in Coquitlam BC. This Electrolux dryer made some funky noises and the client didn't hesitate to call us out to investigate. Our technician quickly identified that the motor was the culprit and we ordered and replaced the motor for the client. Now the dryer works perfectly well, no funky noises, or other problems.Got a dryer giving you grief? Call us today and our red seal techs will be out there on a same or next day basis to look at it. And while you're at it grab our limited-time $50 OFF promo as well.
Frigidaire laundry center repair in Abbotsford, BC - control board replacement. We had a client who called us about their Frigidaire laundry center unit under warranty where the washer would work intermittently and the dryer refused to heat. Our technician tested the power supply and relays on the board and found that the board was distributing power incorrectly to both appliances. Laundry centers by Frigidaire/Electrolux, and those made by Whirlpool, and GE often have a single board that distributes power across both appliances to run specific circuits at different points of the cycle. The complex nature of orchestrating multiple things at the same time from one place for both appliances can definitely take it's toll and at times these boards fail. Thankfully, we were able to source the replacement board quickly and after it was replaced both the washing machine and dryer ran perfectly across every cycle step. Fixed washer, happy client - all in a day's work. If your washing machine or dryer are giving you trouble - call Vancouver Appliance Service Pros - our technicians are experts in all major brands of laundry appliances, and we do warranty repairs for most brands like Bosch, Frigidaire, Electrolux, Blomberg / Beko and many more, which means we can get the parts we need quickly, and know exactly how to diagnose and fix your appliance quickly, professionally & affordably.
Did you know many newer fridges (Frigidaire, Electrolux, Whirlpool) run on old-school defrost timers instead of a control board? We recently replaced this defrost timer for a customer with a broken Frigidaire fridge in Chilliwack. The customer already called Electrolux and thought it was a big sealed system problem because their whole fridge stopped working. 10 minutes of careful diagnostics by our professional technician, and another 5 minutes to replace the part right there and then - and the client's fridge was back to normal. Expert, quick, and affordable - that's our motto. If your fridge recently conked out, CALL US - we'll get it back in order. Whether it's a simple defrost timer swap like this one, or a DC loading issue, or even a sealed system repair - our techs know how to get the job done right, on the first try.

Another day, another refrigerator Sealed System repair in Vancouver. The client's chest freezer was no longer cooling with no evident frost pattern, but the compressor ran and cycled correctly. Our technician tested the pressure, and after extracting the refrigerant found a leak using a dye filter and nitrogen and after repairing the leak on the heat exchanger and refilling the unit with refrigerant - it started to cool properly again. Happy freezer, happy client - all in a day's work for the Vancouver Appliance Service Pros team.
Electrolux washing machine repair in Burnaby, BC. The client had an issue with an intermittent leak coming from the bottom of the machine and pooling out front. Our technician disassembled the machine and found that the rubber door gasket was being pulled away when the machine moved violently during the agitation and low speed spin steps of the cycle. The inner clamp on the gasket was loose which resulted in a bit of water seeping through the gap above the cinder block balances and the machine was not leveled correctly on tile flooring causing it to shake violently during hose steps. We elevated the machine and replaced the inner clamp on the gasket and ran two test cycles with a load of clothes. No more leaks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does appliance repair cost in Vancouver?

For appliance repair in Vancouver & any municipality in the Lower Mainland, we charge a $250 flat-rate repair fee plus the cost of parts for standard brands and models. This includes the diagnostic, labour, and part installation. If you choose not to proceed with the repair, the diagnostic fee is $135, that’s it.

No matter the brand, or how complex the job might be, we believe in simple & transparent rates.

Do you offer same-day appliance repair?

Yes. We offer same-day and next-day appointments 7 days a week in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, including weekends and evenings.

Same & next-day appointments are offered for all appliances we fix including fridges, stoves, ovens, dishwashers, washing machines, and dryers.

As part of our repair process, we always do our best to prioritize refrigerator & washing machine repair. After all, they’re key appliances in every household. A broken washer stops your laundry routine in it’s tracks, whereas a fridge gone down means your food is likely to spoil. Please note to our dispatchers if you need us to put a rush on the visit, and we’ll do our best to offer the soonest possible appointment.

About half of our customers are seen the same day they call. Call us at (604) 265-3852 or book online to check availability. Our dispatchers will offer a 2 hour window of availability and our technicians will see you as soon as possible.

Is it worth repairing my appliance or should I replace it?

A good rule of thumb: if the appliance is less than 10 years old and the repair cost is under half the price of a new appliance, repair is usually the better option.

Additionally, if the appliance has frequent problems or is nearing the end of it’s lifespan – there may be other maintenance items on the horizon – so replacement may be the more cost-effective option.

Our technicians will always give you an honest recommendation after thoroughly diagnosing the specific issue with your unit – we’ll never push for a repair that doesn’t make financial or practical sense. So you can rely on us to get an accurate picture of what’s going on, what it will cost to fix, and whether or not it’s worth fixing or if it’s better to get a new unit.

For example, if you have a fridge with leaking evaporator coils, the repair could range from $800 to $1,500 (as it is a complicated sealed system repair requiring specialized knowledge, training & equipment). So, at that point it may be worth considering a new fridge if your fridge isn’t super fancy or a replacement size-wise would run you close to $1,500-2,000. On the other hand, if you have an LG washing machine that has issues with the spin cycle, you’re probably looking at $250-500 depending on the parts involved. A new unit would run well over $1,000 – so it makes more sense to repair.

What brands do you repair?

We service all major brands including Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, GE, Bosch, Maytag, KitchenAid, Frigidaire, Electrolux, Miele, Fisher & Paykel, and many more. We’re also factory-authorized warranty service providers for Frigidaire, Electrolux, Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, Blomberg, Beko, Sharp, Danby, and other manufacturers.

All in all, we do appliance repairs for over 35 different brands. And you can see the whole list on our Brands page.

The best part? Where many companies charge different prices for premium-class brands like Sub Zero, Gaggenau, Wolf and others – our pricing is flat rate ($250 + parts) – whether you have a Kenmore washer or a Sub Zero fridge, we charge one simple and transparent price. That’s it!

Do you use genuine OEM parts?

Yes. We only install genuine replacement parts sourced straight from the manufacturer – never aftermarket alternatives.

Here at Vancouver Appliance Service Pros, we have very deep relationships with manufacturers and do warranty service for many of them. This allows us to have all of the up-to-date parts lists and information that many other companies do not, as well as exclusive pricing on many replacement parts that we pass on to our customers.

What areas of Vancouver do you serve?

We serve all of Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, including Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, New Westminster, Delta, Surrey, Langley, Maple Ridge, Mission, Abbotsford & Chilliwack. We’re based on Oak Street in Vancouver and have technicians on the road every day across the region.

Is There Any Warranty Or Guarantee On Repairs?

Yes. We offer a 6-month warranty on all repairs.

Most reputable companies offer a warranty on parts and labour. While others tend to offer 90 days on average – we’re so confident in the quality of our work that we offer a 6 month warranty guarantee, no questions asked.

If something we repaired gives you any kind of trouble during the warranty period, we’ll  be happy to come back out and take a look at it – at no additional cost to you.

The only exceptions are cases of misuse, new unrelated issues (we will still diagnose it free of charge), and very rarely one-time services such as installing your own parts that we did not source from the manufacturer ourselves.

Otherwise, you’re totally covered for 6 months. This is a whole 3 months more than most other appliance repair companies in Vancouver offer on repairs. This is because our technicians are highly accredited, trained by the manufacturers, and we’re just that confident in the work we do for our customers.

How can I maintain my appliance myself?

While we offer a professional appliance maintenance that covers ALL of your major appliances for only $150 a year – here are a few tips you can use to prevent costly repairs on most appliances.

Monthly cleaning of dryer vents and refrigerator coils is recommended due to faster debris accumulation in humid air.

Cleaning lint filters and checking hoses regularly can prevent blockages in washing machines and dryers.

Wiping up spills and food residue after each use can prevent stains and ensure safe operation of ovens and stoves.

Running a cleaning cycle monthly can remove grease and food particles in dishwashers for better cleaning results.

Inspecting door seals and replacing them if worn can maintain proper cooling and energy efficiency in refrigerators.

Scheduling an annual maintenance check can help catch small issues before they become costly repairs. That’s why we offer an annual maintenance service that not only gets you the maintenance & tune-up every year, but also year-round repair coverage. If something breaks between visits, we’ll fix it for only $75 + parts. That’s a deal to steal!

What Are The Most Common Appliance Problems You Encounter?

While we’ve been around since 2012, most of our technicians have decades of experience in the appliance repair field.

Here are some of the most common appliance issues we’ve seen over the years:

Electric ovens and stoves often suffer from failed heating elements, broken burners & spark modules that won’t spark.

Dirty condenser coils, damaged gaskets, overloading and more rarely faulty thermostats are the top causes of poor cooling in refrigerators.

Blocked vents are a major issue in older buildings (and surprisingly newer condos), particularly causing dryers to have no heat or long drying times. In many new condos, strata will pick the cheapest contractor who may not do the vent cleaning properly. A good idea is to get your own vent cleaning company to go over their work yearly.

Common issues with washers include not draining water, leaking, and moldy door gaskets.

Common issues with dryers include not heating, not starting, and drum not spinning.

Common issues with dishwashers include leaking, strange sounds from the drain pump, and poor cleaning performance.

Common issues with ovens include taking a long time to reach temperature, uneven heating, and elements not turning on.

There are a plethora more, and if you’d like to see the most common issues we fix for each type of appliance, please head over to our Services Page and click on the specific appliance that interests you to get a detailed list.
