What Port Coquitlam Homeowners Say About Us
EXCELLENT Based on 1055 reviews Posted on Oleksandr Dmytriiev2026-07-15Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had an absolute amazing experience with this company. I work for property management company and consistently use Vancouver appliance Service Pros when I have an issue Anytime I have a problem they send out a tech the next day for me and get the repair done or give me detailed description of what needs to be done and how they are gonna do it. Communication has been excellent and their online portal lets me see the progress of each repair and the parts are. They have made my life easier. Thank you so much for all your hard work!Posted on Ken Lum2026-07-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Leon was professional and provided an honest assessment weighing the cost of a wine fridge repair vs replacement. He took the time to suggest alternative wine fridge replacement models should I decide on this route. Much appreciated.Posted on Sandy Parkin2026-07-10Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Trevor was great, explained how to figure out and fix the issues I was having, and said if they still continue to give them another call and he would be glad to come back!Posted on Oliver S2026-07-10Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have never been satisfied with repair contractors in the past and I've always felt there was a lack of transparency and surprise costs that make me feel ripped off. That was not at all the case this time with Vancouver Appliance Service. They truly were transparent from my first call and I knew what I was going to spend for service and labour. The process from beginning to end was very well organized and their online portal for invoices, approvals and updates was very easy to follow and use.Posted on C R2026-07-10Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Leon was great, he answered all of our questions while he was inspecting our gas range. He was punctual and I would hire him again should the need arise!Posted on T Shaw2026-07-09Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This was not my first time using this company for maintenance on my Blomberg dryer. I must say, the first experience a few years ago was horrible, so going into this appointment, I was skeptical about the service. The first technician, Alex, was a no-show. After much rescheduling, we ended up with Shabaz. He was polite and professional with his work, and I would recommend him in the future. For what it's worth, my advice for technicians booking a time frame with clients: If you know you're going to be late, a simple phone call is all it takes. We are all busy people and waiting for 2 hours to have a no-show, is really frustrating for all kinds of reasons. Fortunately, this company did the right thing to fix the situation, which is much appreciated! I will be using them again if needed in the future, and I hope Shabaz is still around at that time.Posted on Steven Biersteker2026-07-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very helpful and helped explain all the issues clearly. Great service.Posted on Alexandra Marceau2026-07-02Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Appliance Repair Experts Serving the Tri-Cities Since 2012
Port Coquitlam is one of the most family-oriented communities in the Tri-Cities, and the housing here reflects that. It’s a city of single-family homes, townhouse complexes, and a growing number of mid-rise condos, each with its own set of appliance repair needs that keep Our techs busy year-round.
Mary Hill, in the northeast corner along the Pitt River, is one of PoCo’s oldest residential areas. Most homes here were built in the 1960s and 1970s, and many still have their original electrical panels and plumbing runs. We see a high volume of calls from Mary Hill for aging fridges with failing compressors, dryers with worn-out heating elements, and gas stoves where the igniters have corroded over decades of use. The older dryer vent routing in these homes also tends to collect lint in ways that newer installations avoid, which leads to longer dry times and thermal fuse failures.
Oxford Heights sits on the hillside south of the Lougheed Highway. These are mostly 1980s and 1990s-era family homes with larger kitchens and more appliance capacity than the Mary Hill stock. Double ovens, built-in dishwashers, and full-size washer-dryer pairs are standard. The most common appliance problems we handle in Oxford Heights involve dishwasher drain pump wear from heavy family use, oven door seal degradation, and washer machine vibration issues on the upper floors of split-level homes where the laundry room sits above grade.
Citadel Heights, developed primarily through the late 1990s and 2000s, brought newer construction with updated wiring and plumbing. These homes tend to have gas ranges, wine coolers, and larger refrigerators. Appliance issues here are usually electronic: control board failures on gas stoves, temperature sensor problems in wine coolers, and ice maker malfunctions in French-door fridges that are hitting the 8-10 year mark.
Riverwood and the Downtown core represent PoCo’s newer development. Riverwood’s townhouses along the Pitt River waterfront feature compact appliance configurations similar to what you’d find in newer Coquitlam developments. Ventless dryers, 24-inch dishwashers, and slide-in ranges are common. Downtown PoCo has seen several new condo buildings go up near the West Coast Express station, and these units use space-saving stacking washer-dryers and built-in microwaves that need regular maintenance as the buildings age past their initial 5-year mark.

Recent Appliance Repair in Port Coquitlam — Case Study
The Problem: A homeowner in Oxford Heights contacted us about their 9-year-old KitchenAid double wall oven. The upper oven had stopped heating entirely, while the lower oven still worked but was running about 25°F hotter than the set temperature. They’d been avoiding using it for two weeks and relying on a toaster oven for meals.
Diagnosis: Our technician tested both oven cavities and found that the upper oven’s bake element had an open circuit, a clean break in the element coil that prevented it from heating at all. The lower oven’s temperature sensor (thermistor) was reading resistance values outside of spec, which explained the temperature overshoot. Both are common problems on KitchenAid double wall ovens in this age range, and the failures were unrelated to each other.
The Fix: We replaced the upper bake element and the lower oven temperature sensor in the same visit. After reassembly, the technician ran both ovens through a calibration cycle and verified temperatures with an independent oven thermometer. Both cavities held within 5°F of the set temperature after 20 minutes of preheating. The entire repair took about 90 minutes. Replacing both components in one visit saved the homeowner a second service call and got them back to cooking the same day.
Cost: $250 flat-rate service fee + the cost of the bake element and thermistor. No extra charges for Oxford Heights and clear pricing.
Appliance Brands We Service in Port Coquitlam
Port Coquitlam homes run the full range of appliance brands. Mary Hill’s older properties tend to have reliable workhorses like GE, Maytag, Whirlpool, and Frigidaire that eventually need service after 15-20 years. Oxford Heights and Citadel Heights kitchens often feature mid-range to premium brands like KitchenAid, Bosch, Samsung, and LG. Some of the newer builds in Riverwood and along the West Coast Express corridor include Fisher & Paykel, Jenn-Air, and Sub-Zero units. Our certified technicians are trained on all of them and carry the diagnostic equipment to service everything from a basic Danby countertop microwave to a Thermador pro-style gas range.
